The Promise Book; Tell Someone
Product

Model: TPB

Condition: New

Story by Debbie Barth, illustrated by Pat Marvenko Smith

This is a children’s book that brings to light five potentially dangerous predator situations that a child may encounter. It is primarily aimed at the pre-school and elementary aged children to alert them to specific dangers. The parent, grandparent or guardian can read to the child about these dangers and explain how to avoid them. The author compares the world and the people in it to a garden. In this garden are flowers of all different colors, shapes and sizes.  It takes each and every flower to make this garden beautiful.  But, even in the most beautiful of gardens, weeds will sometimes grow.  Weeds are not good for the other plants trying to grow.  And sometimes, it is hard to tell the difference from the flowers and the weeds and the same can be said for people.  But it is a good thing to know the difference, and to pull out the weeds, so that the flowers may bloom and grow in a wonderful garden, free of the weeds. The artist has placed a small “bad weed” somewhere in each illustration for the child to find.

The Parable of the Ten Virgins 11″x14″ Framed Print

The Parable of the Ten Virgins

Matthew 25:1-13

Jesus told several parables in response to questions from his disciples about the kingdom of heaven and the end of time. This is one of those parables that stressed the importance of being prepared for His second coming. Jesus uses a story of a wedding here to make His point. In those days weddings involved the groom traveling from his house to the house of his bride-to-be in the evening where the wedding would be held. The virgin bride’s maids had to bring lighted lamps to light the way and enter the wedding celebration. In this parable, Jesus says the groom was very late in arriving at night. The bride’s maids had fallen asleep waiting. The wise ones were prepared for the arrival of the groom no matter what time he arrived, so they had brought oil for their lamps. The unwise brought no oil. With no lit lamps they would not be allowed to enter. The oil here is believed to be symbolic of the indwelling Holy Spirit. The wedding house represents heaven and the groom represents Jesus himself. The story stresses the importance of being ready for the return of Jesus, which could happen at any time. This print has the title and scripture shown in the bottom border (see the magnification).

Through The Gate of the Eternal City

Revelation 21:21-27
Revelation 22:1-6

This vision which was given to John is the most glorious promise for each of us who have Jesus as our Savior. This promise was given to us earlier in scripture by Jesus just before He was to be crucified, when He said, “I go to prepare a place for you”. In John 14, Jesus says that He would be going to prepare a place of many mansions or rooms for His followers. Then one day He would come to get us so that we can be with Him there forever. In the Book of Revelation, John does his best to describe with earthly words this heavenly vision. But it really must have been indescribable! We look forward to the promise!
